A 30-YEAR-OLD GHOST STORY.

In 1996, the ink was barely dry on a collection of songs that would remain a ghost in the studio for nearly thirty years. Today, that collection is finally alive. Dear Darcy is the project of songwriter and bassist Kim Cordle — a raw, cinematic song cycle that serves as a diary of an era.

The story is one of dualities: the celestial pull of an elusive muse versus the grit of the pavement. Moving through themes of self-destruction, late-night escapism, and the desperate search for connection, the record functions as a Dreamer-to-Driver narrative — starting with the hypnotic anesthesia of sleep and ending with the hard reality of an exit.

Cordle’s compositions are anchored by a formidable lineup. Todd Long, noted for his tenure behind the kit for The Verve Pipe, provides the driving, earth-shaking percussion. Guitarist Robert Hoppa — a voice of authority from the pages of Guitar Player Magazine — builds the massive, shimmering walls of sound that make the hooks feel both abrasive and anthemic.

Dear Darcy is an artifact of 1996, revitalized with the conviction of someone who spent decades perfecting the vision. It is aggressive, melancholic, and undeniably melodic — the sound of someone finally putting the past to rest to make room for the future.
